French Ex-Culture Minister Banks on Korean Connection

The former French culture minister Fleur Pellerin has resigned from the Court of Auditors to launch a company that helps Korean businesses invest in France, le Journal du Dimanche reported Sunday.

Pellerin was replaced by Audrey Azoulay during a cabinet reshuffle in February and moved to the Court of Auditors.

She has named her consultancy Korelya and plans to focus on the area of new technologies. She resigned from the Court of Auditors last month in order to avoid any conflict of interest.

Le Monde reported that Pellerin, who was not obliged to quit public office, jettisoned her safety net should her business fail. But Pellerin said she is giving it all she has, as she did when she was in government and politics.

A Korean orphan who was adopted by a French family when she was six months old, Pellerin became culture minister in the Socialist-led government after serving as deputy minister for small and medium-size businesses and the digital economy.
