Jo Woo-jin will play the role of Soon-tae, the presumptive heir of the Chinese restaurant who would rather try to start his own franchise restaurant. His character is expected to have comic sensibilities. Jung Kyung-ho will play Kang-pyo, the sole grandson of the restaurant's founder who is expected to have strong synergy with Jo Woo-jin's character as they compete for control of the restaurant.

Park Ji-hwan will play Pan-ho, the final candidate, who desperately wants to be in charge but suffers from a relatively low intelligence compared to the other two. Lee Kyu-hyung will play Soon-tae's right-hand man in the delivery side of the business, Tae-gyoo, who's worked with him for ten years. Oh Dal-soo will play In-sool, the brains of the organization. Hwang Woo-seul-hye will play Soon-tae's wife, Ji-yeong, while Jung Eugene will play Yeon-im, Kang-pyo's love interest.

Ra Hee-chan of "Going by the Book" and "Mr. Idol" will direct the project. The production company has expressed high hopes for the production, noting the award-winning pedigree of its cast. "Boss" is currently just the working title. The film is expected to go into production in the first half of next year.
