Studio Dragon, a production company, said on the 22nd, "We were preparing for season 2 with the aim of cranking in October this year, but the production schedule was disrupted due to circumstances such as difficulties in filming overseas due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation".

As filming is virtually impossible as scheduled, it is expected that the casting of directors and cast members for season 2 will take time.

"Arthdal Chronicles" is a fantasy historical drama about the fate of heroes who make different legends in the ancient land of 'Arth'.

Season 1 was first aired in June last year and was divided into parts of 1 to 3. Director Kim Won-seok's solid directing skills gained popularity thanks to the performances of the cast, including Jang Dong-gun, Song Joong-ki, Kim Ji-won, Kim Ok-vin and Choo Ja-hyun. The appearance of mixed-race and foreign actors such as Elena Ahn and Erika Karata also drew attention.
