Director Hwang Dong-hyuk's "Killing Old People Club", More Violent Than "Squid Game"

Director Hwang Dong-hyuk, who directed the Netflix drama "Squid Game" said, "We are preparing for the next movie, "Killing Old People Club" which deals with a kind of intergenerational war". Director Hwang Dong-hyuk made this remark at the international video content fair 'MIPTV' event in Cannes, France, according to entertainment magazine Variety.

Director Hwang Dong-hyuk joked, "I was inspired by the novel by Italian writer Umberto Eco, and I have already written a 25-page treatment (pre-scenario stage). When the movie comes out, I may have to hide away from the elderly".

He also announced plans for the second season of "Squid Game". He said, "I plan to write "Squid Game - Season 2" when I return to Korea, and I hope to see it on Netflix by the end of 2024".

He also met Steven Spielberg after "Squid Game" at the American Film Institute (AFI) awards luncheon and apparently Spielberg said, "I finished watching your drama in three days. I want to steal your brain right now". "I grew up watching his movies and he's my hero", Hwang Dong-hyuk said. "That was the biggest compliment of my life".
