"Crash Landing on You" was an obvious exemplar for a reward vacation due to the drama's outstanding performance. However, because the drama ended at about the same time that COVID-19 broke out in South Korea, there was hesitancy on the part of relevant persons to go on a vacation at that specific time. Additionally, lead actor Hyun Bin had already made plans to quickly get involved on filming for his next project, the major film "The Point Men", which has had its own COVID-19 related issues.
In a statement Studio Dragon cited the great difficulties many persons had gone through as a result of the outbreak as being the principle reason behind the donation. This news also follows upon Son Ye-jin's recent announcement that she would be donating a great deal of personal wealth to the cause. Son Ye-jin's hometown of Daegu is the epicenter of the South Korean outbreak.
