[HanCinema's News] "Deliver Us From Evil" Holds Longest Streak at Top of the Box Office This Year

As of August 25th, "Deliver Us From Evil" has achieved a milestone for having held the box office for twenty one straight days. The record was promptly broken on August 26th with the first major Hollywood release since the COVID-19 breakout. Fears of a new COVID-19 wave also pushed back the release of "The Golden Holiday" which had been expected to overtake "Deliver Us From Evil" last weekend.

"Deliver Us From Evil" nevertheless has much to be proud of in spite of this context. The movie has passed the 4.2 million viewer mark and proven itself a serious success even as its fallen short of major summer blockbuster status. "Deliver Us From Evil" is also the second best performing movie in the year in terms of viewer numbers, falling only behind "The Man Standing Next" from before the COVID-19 induced crash, which earned 4.75 million viewer admissions.
