[HanCinema's News] Min Woo-hyuk Talks About "Doctor Cha"

The fashion magazine The Star recently released a photoshoot and interview with actor Min Woo-hyuk of "Doctor Cha" for its June issue. The concept for the photoshoot was Magic Black Hole- which is to say, that Min Woo-hyuk's seemingly magical charms are attractive in the same sense that a black hole. In "Doctor Cha" Min Woo-hyuk played Roy Kim, a doctor whose sweet personality was especially appealing to the medical drama's fans.

At the time the interview was conducted, Min Woo-hyuk was still filming "Doctor Cha" and claimed it was the best possible experience. Between musicals, television dramas, and movies, he claimed that "Doctor Cha" outshined all of them in terms of his working environment. He credited this to a warm atmosphere from the very beginning with the staff as well as his senior co-stars, Uhm Jung-hwa, Kim Byung-chul, and Myung Se-bin. Min Woo-hyuk described them as like family.

Min Woo-hyuk also credited this environment to the drama's surprising success. It ended on June 4th with impressive ratings of 18.546%. Min Woo-hyuk claimed the script had many ad libs based on this dynamic. His infamous kiss scene with Kim Byung-chul, for example, wasn't in the script. Min Woo-hyuk thought the timing of the scene was perfect for a kiss. So he asked Kim Byung-chul for permission to try it, and they ended up filming it.

For his next challenge, Min Woo-hyuk stated that he wants to play a strong villain. But he still has not confirmed his next project, and it is not yet known whether he will continue with television dramas or return to stage musicals. "Doctor Cha" has logged 100 million viewed hours worldwide via Netflix.
