Heo Sung-tae in "Squid Game", a Gangster Blinded by 45.6 Billion Won

Heo Sung-tae took on the role of a gangster named Jang Deok-soo, a character who brought out tension amongst the participants in the Netflix series "Squid Game" released on the 17th.

"Squid Game" is about a survival game in which people who no longer have a place to back down to, being trapped in a huge space and risk their lives to win 46.5 billion won in prize money.

Jang Deok-soo is a character who used to belong to a mob but loses all of the mob's money in gambling and coincidentally ends up in the Squid Game in which he risks everything he has. Being who he is, he also creates an organization of his own within the game and takes over.

Jang Deok-soo is a multi-dimensional character who is blinded by the prize money and commits crime without even blinking an eye and when he's in danger, he begs to live.

Heo Sung-tae goes back and forth blackmail and reconciliation, increasing tension within the series.

Heo Sung-tae drew tattoos on his body from his face to his shoulders to play Deok-soo the gangster and put on 20 kilograms to create a fitting visual.

Director Hwang Dong-hyuk announced at the press presentation on the 15th that he made it so that Deok-soo bring out tension amongst the participants, showing more affection for the character. Heo Sung-tae appeared in director Hwang's "The Fortress" in 2017

Meanwhile, Heo Sung-tae is looking forward to the release of the movie "Nocturnal".
