Seo Yi-sook, Cha Chung-hwa and Hwang Young-hee Are Scene Stealers for a Reason

There are three 'scene stealers' who boast more attractive acting skills than the main characters. Seo Yi-sook, Cha Chung-hwa and Hwang Young-hee, dubbed 'scene stealers', are some examples, as they keep the flow of the drama going smoothly, but don't miss out on the fun of the show.

The three actresses did not suddenly appear in dramas, but they are veteran actresses who have solidified their skills by acting in theaters in Daehangno. Seo Yi-sook, who played Goddess Mago in tvN's "Hotel Del Luna", Cha Chung-hwa, who starred in "Crash Landing on You" as beauty salon member Yang Ok-geum, and Hwang Young-hee, who played Jessica's mother-in-law, Lee Hwa-ja, in KBS2's "When the Camellia Blooms" are called scene-stealers, but with a greater presence than the main characters and are nevertheless also hidden main characters.

- 1 drama, 6 roles, Seo Yi-sook

In tvN's "Hotel Del Luna", which aired last year, Seo Yi-sook emerged as a scene stealer, playing Goddess Mago, a twelve-sister goddess of various characters who controls human life and death and goes back and forth the two realms of life.

In the drama, Seo Yi-sook played six of the twelve Goddess Magos, showing a character with different personalities in every episode. She perfectly performed various images of the Mago sisters, from the Goddess Mago who prays for the happy afterlife by giving white lilies to the dead, to the goddess of medicine, the goddess of evil spirits, the goddess of wealth and the goddess of poverty.

In particular, when playing the role of the goddess of poverty, putting Jang Man-wol (Lee Ji-eun), the main character in trouble, Seo Yi-sook's indecent manner of speaking and her playful expression gave viewers a unique character of Goddess Mago that had never been shown before and led the plot skillfully. Through her performance as a the goddess of poverty, Seo received favorable reviews and was very much looked forward to as another goddess.

Seo Yi-sook is currently starring in the jTBC drama "The World of the Married" as the wife of Chairman Choi, a real estate millionaire, and stands in conflict with Ji Seon-woo (Kim Hee-ae).

- A realistic dialect wielder , Cha Chung-hwa

Cha Chung-hwa's main weapon is her dialect. She began to draw attention for her dialect when she played Yang Ok-geum, wife and former announcer of So-ja and now a hairdresser from North Korea, through tvN's "Crash Landing on You".

Through the role of Yang Ok-geum, Cha Chung-hwa showed off a real North Korean dialect, adding to the plot's vibrance. In the scene where she went against Yoon Se-ri (Son Ye-jin), she showed her cool tongue in the North Korean accent and added fun to the drama.

Since then, Cha returned to the small screen through Channel A's "Oddball! Chef Moon", which was first aired on March 27th. In "Oddball! Chef Moon" she plays Pi Gon-sook, a person who speaks in a Chungcheong-do dialect. She is a wife who takes care of her husband even though she's slow. She is the head of the village, who gathers opinions from the villagers.

- A genius in transformation

Hwang Young-hee made headlines for her role as Chae in SBS's "The Nokdu Flower". Hwang Young-hee described Chae's stubborn personality as the wife of the Baek Family, with a thick accent and a slightly exaggerated look.

In "Hotel Del Luna" which followed "The Nokdu Flower", Hwang Young-hee played Hwang Moon-sook, a serious-looking woman, where previous dialect acting and exaggerated facial expressions were nowhere to be found. Hwang Moon-sook is the former manager who led Hotel Del Luna's heyday. Playing the role of Hwang Moon-sook, Hwang Young-hee displayed an intelligent image through her glasses and a capable career woman with a high-pitched accent.

Hwang's acting transformation takes place once again on KBS 2TV's "When the Camellia Blooms". Through "When the Camellia Blooms", Hwang plays the role of Lee Hwa-ja, who resembles a mother figure after her friendly but tough character Chae and career woman Hwang Moon-sook.

In the drama, Lee Hwa-ja is a self-respecting character and mother who retrains her trouble-making daughter Jessica (Ji E-suu). Hwang Young-hee naturally revealed the two aspects of Lee Hwa-ja's personality by freely moving between the standard Korean and Jeolla dialect.
