"The Assassination" with 4 Million tickets will it surpass "Northern Limit Line"'s 6 Million today (28th) ?

The movie "The Assassination" is continuing its dominance of the Korean box office.

According to the Korean Film Council's database, the movie added a daily sales of 424,690 tickets on the 27th for a total of 3.747 million tickets sold. The movie is currently on the top of the box-office and is expected to pass the 4 million mark during the day (28th).

"The Assassination" opened on the 22th with the highest presales and the biggest opening records for any Korean movie ever. After only 5 days in the box office, it sold more than 3 million tickets. The movie is set in 1933's Shanghai, China and Kyung-Sung, Korea and tells the story of a mission to assassinate Japanese collaborators by the Korean freedom fighters and government in exile intertwined with hired hitmen on their coattails. Jun Ji-hyun, Lee Jung-jae, and Ha Jung-woo are starring.

Following "The Assassination" is Pixar's "Inside out" on the good run with 140,081 tickets sold with a total sales of 3.33 million tickets. "Youkai Watch: Tanjou no Himitsu da Nyan!" is in 3rd place with 26,645 tickets sold. "Northern Limit Line" follows with a total sales of 5.95 million tickets sold leaving it a hair's length away from the 6 million mark.

"Northern Limit Line" tells the story of the Second Battle of Yeonpyeong which occurred on June 29th 2002 at the Northern Limit Line near the Yeonpyeong. The movie stirred up a lot of political controversy because of the sensitive topic.
